Bolt to Make First International Showing at Oslo in June

Usain Bolt will make his first international appearance of the year at the Bislett Games in Oslo on June 7, the triple Olympic champion has revealed.

The 25-year-old will compete in the 100m at the event in Norway, which takes place six weeks before the start of the Olympic Game, and will run in at least three training races in Jamaica beginning next month.

"My preparations have been good this fall [autumn], 2012 is going to be a great year!" Bolt said in a statement.

"I am injury free, working hard and everything is going according to plan.

"There is only around six weeks to go to the London Olympics after this race and there is no doubt it will be surrounded by an enormous amount of interest."

Bolt is the current 100m and 200m Olympic champion and world record holder, and while a false start at the World Championships in Daegu last year saw him dismantled as the 100m world champion, he safely defended his 200m crown. He is also the anchor for Jamaica's record-breaking 4x100m relay team.

He will take part in a succession of races in his homeland, beginning with the Camperdown Classic on 11 February, followed by the Gibson Relays on 25 February and the UWI Invitational on 17 March.

Bolt is expected to run the 400m at all three events to test his fitness over the distance in a bid to challenge for a place in Jamaica's 4x400m relay team. He has revealed that he wants to become an Olympic "legend" by winning four gold medals at London 2012.
