Locker Room - Boxing posts

“Boxing is like ballet,” Jack Handey once famously uttered, “except there’s no music, no choreography, and the dancers hit each other”. “I want my fights to be seen as plays”, Sugar Ray Leonard professed, shortly before repeatedly hammering upon the unguarded face of another despondent opponent.

With boxing under the very real threat of being consumed by it’s own greed - the habitual, systematic mismatching of fighters has plagued the ‘sweet science’ for far too long – swathes of former boxing fans have traded in their first love for a younger, less complicated model.

Here at Sportsvibe we are a big fan of fighting and fashion, so when we found a brand that perfectly paired the two we were intrigued. LUTA, which in Portuguese means to fight, to struggle and to never give up.

Sportsvibe spent it's childhood dreaming of walking out on the hollowed Wembley turf and making a century at Lords in front of 20,000 England fans but unfortunately we weren't blessed with the talent to make any of these a reality.

The Sportsvibe team are planning on making the most of their Christmas this year and indulging in some rather unhealthy food. Of course we plan on being fighting fit in the New Year, and that is why we will be using this new piece of kit from Lonsdale.

If you have been inspired by World Champions David Haye and Amir Khan and want to take up boxing, then this Lonsdale set provides everything you need to get your workout started.
