I have a dilemma and it involves Jess Ennis, the golden girl of British athletics and a previous Special Guest Columnist here on Sportsvibe. In her column she said how she can cook a mean blackberry and apple pastry. Later the world heptathlon championpromised that she wouldcook one just for me. Well, that was in December and I'm still waiting. Moments after she broke the 60 metres hurdles indoors British record on Saturday at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall Itold her that when a girl makes a promise she has to deliver. "Well, you promisedthat you'd sort it out so that I can get to meet Gordon Ramsay," Jess replied. Andso I did, on the basis that a few years ago I actually cooked for Gordon in his Chelsea restaurant for threelong days and nights. So there you have it. It seems the only way I can get hold of one of Jess Ennis's blackberry and apple pastries (and she swears they are the best around) is to arrange a meeting between Mr "F" Word and the girl who lookswell set to add the world indoors title in March to her outdoors title won last summer. I tell you what. That pastry had, to use Gordon's vernacular, better be f***ing good!
