adidas, the Official Sportswear Provider for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games have launched a limited edition t-shirt (RRP £20) and baseball cap (RRP £9) which is only available to buy for seven weeks from 20th August to 3rd October 2012. For every t-shirt and cap sold, £5 and£2 respectively will go directly to the British Paralympic Association (BPA) to support the ‘Front Line to Start Line’ campaign that they have recently launched in partnership with Help for Heroes (H4H) to help injured servicemen and women progress in competitive sport.
The adidas range is supported by sporting heroes such as David Beckham, Jessica Ennis, Tom Daley, Phillips Idowu and Pete Reed, Paralympic athletes Jon-Allan Butterworth, Netra Rana and Derek Derenalagi, as well as LOCOG and participating retailers. The BPA work closely with H4H to support wounded servicemen and women who want to make the progression to elite sport, through initiatives such as Battle Back. Battle Back is an MOD initiative, supported by Help for Heroes, which designs programmes to promote confidence and independence and help accelerate physical, psychological and social recovery throughout the duration of recovery – inspiring the wounded injured and sick to focus on what they can do and not what they can’t.
The money adidas hope to raise will help ‘Front Line to Start Line’ increase the number of athletes achieve their sporting dreams and support future Paralympians from a military background.
Nick Craggs, adidas, says: “We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to contribute to this cause by supplying this limited edition range. Every t-shirt and every cap sold matters, because the proceeds will go towards the partnership and help injured servicemen and women play sport”
Help make the journey from the ‘Front Line to the Start Line’ a reality for more injured servicemen and women and be part of the 2012 Paralympic legacy.
