Jon Wilkin - Rugby
Jon began his career in professional sport at the age of 16 and has played for St Helens in rugby league's top flight for the last ten years, winning four challenge cups and one grand final winners' medal.
His biggest career highlight to date was winning the treble, including being crowned world club champions in 2006.
He has also represented England in three tri-nations competitions, last year's Four Nations and one World Cup in which they reached the semi-finals. He was given the captaincy at the last England game versus Exiles in July 2012.
In 2012, he was granted a testimonial by the RFL as a reward for his services to the game, and Jon and his testimonial committee are putting on a series of marquee events for both the fans and the corporate market to celebrate his year (for more information visit www.jonwilkin.co.uk/events). He is also a regular contributor on BBC Radio 5 Live and TV and has had regular appearances on Question of Sport.
The Cynical British attitude towards sports and life in
general is one of my biggest frustrations.
