Born and educated in South Africa, Stephen Moore has followed a familiar path to English cricket and has progressed as far as pushing for international honours. An opening batsman, who is strong off the front foot, he first came to attention when scoring 1000 runs in the 2004 and 2005 seasons for Worcestershire.
This superb continued and in 2008 he become the first player to reach 1000 runs, before being handed the opportunity one year later to play against Australia for the England Lions. Batting against the likes of Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson and Stuart Clark he scored a sublime 120.
A switch to Lancashire brought yet more personal success as Moore once again scored over 1000 runs in the 2011 campaign and has continued to be one of the most fluid opening batsman in the county championship.
